Pamo Industries specialises in the furniture design and restoration which started in 2011. We are an innovative, family-owned company based in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. 

"Customise. Recycle. Restore" underpins our business philosophy and our visions are turned into reality using specialty processes, thoughtful design and attention to detail. Our passion lies with furniture, but we also have the skills and facilities to restore anything from a motorbike frame to heritage hardware. 

We are strong advocates for Australian manufacturing and we believe in sustainability from both a business and environmental perspective. Our aim is to help our throw-away society become one which supports home-grown businesses and utilises the extensive range of reusable materials we have at our doorstep. 

HAMISH GOVAN - furniture designer & restorer

Hamish has always had a passion for creating things and his creativity is a means of communicating his personality. Hamish has a keen interest in mid century product design and draws inspiration from iconic products with simple and functional design, high quality materials and precision workmanship; that can include anything from furniture, to cars, to bikes, to artwork, to architecture.

His interest in woodwork began in secondary school and he began his journey in the furniture industry as a 16 year old apprentice in the field of Furniture Polishing/Restoration. During his time as an apprentice Hamish salvaged antiques on the side, returning them to their former glory. 

​After finishing his apprenticeship Hamish developed a greater interest in designing his own furniture and completed one of the country's best furniture design courses at Melbourne's RMIT. Throughout the course Hamish worked with many different mediums, including steel fabrications and fibreglass to name a few. Hamish also exhibited a coffee table, co-designed and built with Tom "Dilly" Littleson, which was chosen by a representative from Bang & Olufsen to display at the Furnitex Trade Show. Hamish also exhibited his pieces in the "Wall to Wall" exhibition, held at the Docklands precinct, which was attended by many industry leaders. 

Since completing the course Hamish has worked in many industries, including a fibreglass company producing automotive parts and also an aluminium fabrication business where he designed and produced parts for the motorcycle industry. 

In the long-term Hamish hopes to continue to build a sustainable business and give back to the industry which has provided him with a career he loves.
